All Thumbs Trio - Garvey, Hickman and Droll

"All Thumbs" is an acoustic trio comprised of Chuck Garvey (moe.), Johnny Hickman (Cracker) and Gibb Droll. "All Thumbs" sets will consist of each member's own material as well as a variety of cover songs all chosen to showcase both songwriting and solo/improvisation.

For these shows, each member will handle lead/backing vocals and play guitar, accented occaisonally by Hickman on mandolin and Garvey on Dobro.

"Gibb and I have been friends for years" says Garvey,.."his band and moe. have played together many times and I have played with him in several acoustic settings over the years as well." Droll is a Virginia Beach / Outer Banks native whose unique blend of Blues and Pop have earned him a loyal following - as well as the respect of peers like Edwin McCain and Dave Matthews.

Hickman's band, Cracker, played at the second "moe.down", moe's annual Labor Day Weekend festival. Garvey and Droll met Hickman and the three guitarists agreed that it would be a positive move to perform together.

"I have been a fan of Johnny's work with Cracker since they started. We all thought that this would be a great 'out of band experience' to do something creative during our down time."

The Trio had a brief "maiden voyage" at the beginning of 2002, covering a modest amount of the Midwest. The success of this short tour only solidified the plans for a follow up.
