Prologue to the Analysis and Classification of "Rebubula"

by Alex Rosenfeld

While I can never come forth and state a definite one favorite MOE.TUNE, I am fairly secure in stating my opinion that "Rebubula" is by far the most epic.  I have said a few times before that on a night when the band is on, and I mean really, really on, and they're standing on stage in front of a sweating crowd, under the bright white lights, singing the chorus of "Rebubla" in unison at the songs close, there isn't a band in the world that can equal MOE..
I suppose that it was such a regard for the power and epic-like nature of "Rebubula" that led me to further examination of the composition of the song.  I was motivated by the fact that the song, even on the surface, seems to be structured in a manner that calls for a definite sectioning. A few weeks of intermittent work resulted in the message that follows, which I have referred to as THE ANALYSIS AND CLASSIFICATION OF "REBUBULA."  This work, needless to say, is not the least bit faultless. In fact, it is my hope that in posting
it to the list others will develop this work in progress.  Perhaps ultimately the ideas and views that we come up with concerning "Rebubula" will be adopted by the community at large.
Finally, I owe a lot of credit to Vincent Dee, my close friend who assisted especially in discussing the strictly musical aspects of "Rebubula."  I could not have finished this up without him.
