"meat.t" originally appeared on two distinct releases in September 1996 and May 1997. Note that while these were two distinct releases, they contained the same version of the song. The first release in September 1996 was a "meat." single, recognized by its supermarket meat department picture on the cover. The "meat." single has 46:10 printed on it based on the ABS (absolute) time that appeared on the master DAT. But Brendan O'Neill, the sound engineer for the band, ran a minute of blank space at the beginning of the DAT before the music began like all good DAT tapers. So the music and CD does time in around 45:09 as opposed to 46:10. The second release in May 1997 was a "She Sends Me" single with "meat." released as the "flip-side," recognized by a purple and blue swirly psychedelic acid warp type deal. This second released was released to radio stations throughout the country in support of moe. touring on the 1997 Furthur Festival.
