It doesn't give you the right to
Co-opt my existence
So anything that you might do
Feeds into my own resistance
Could you be a little more concerned
w/ the simple things like my life
maybe think a little less short term
I've got enough going on in my life- & I don't want to get
burned

I'm sorry that you were not the teacher's pet
I'm sorry about the things you haven't accomplished yet
I'm sorry that life is so hard for you
But it's not my problem

So maybe you've got issues
But then who doesn't, it's the in thing
& maybe we'll miss you
when the new guy comes in next spring
& maybe we won't I don't
expect that you'd be sorely missed
& maybe you should phone home
& tell him that your therapist was wrong

Anything that you might do
Might just get misunderstood
& even then when you try to
tell us everything is all good
Could you be a little more concerned
w/ the simple things like your life
maybe think a little less short term
You've got enough going on in your life- & we all got burned

* George is derived from the latter part of McBain. McBain was the first song to be written as a joint effort between all 5 band members, and billed as a work in progress. At moe.down 5, (a year after the debut), the latter part of the song was done with lyrics, and entitled "George". The lyrics are sung by Al, but may have written by all of them as well.
