moe.links? Golf much? If you're interested in the moe.down charity golf outing to take place on Friday morning, below is a post Jeff Holl, the man behind the movement, made about it, direct any questions you have to him.
OK folks, here are the details for this years moe.down golf tourney. To recap last years event, we had about 45 golfers and raised $3800 bucks, which benefited the American Cancer Society. All the members of the band showed up and played, except for Al who showed up in the morning to watch us tee off.
This years info is as follows
Date: Friday, August 30
Time: 9 a.m. sharp
Place: Turin Highlands golf course, 5 minutes from the venue
http://www.turinhighlands.com/
Cost: $60, which gets you golf, a cart, grill lunch after the round, beer/soda (2 beer carts this time instead of one like last year) and a donation to charity. I'm working on gifts again this year for the players, but don't have a confirmation yet
Charity: Make A Wish Foundation of Central New York http://www.wish.org/Now for the disclaimer, I can't guarantee that the band will show up, but they endorse the event and all have given me a verbal commitment to play.
Last year was a good time and well worth the effort to get there and play. We will have a shotgun start to ensure that you will at the venue by about 2 to set up if you are camping. You must be a player to attend the event. Hackers are certainly welcome, you do not need to be a 2 handicap to play, or even have a handicap for that matter. We will have some real cool prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive, as well as some raffles for other cool prizes. I have to hold the numbers of golfers to 72, so first come, first served for playing. We should come close to filling the spots, so let me know if you are planning on playing, no $$ needed until you show up that morning, unless I'm swamped with people who wish to play, then I'll work something out. We are also taking donations from family and friends, and especially coworkers that always hit you up for something, so now it's your turn to hit them up. Business donations are more than welcome. Ask for forms and I'll email it too you. If you can raise $125 bucks in donations, the event is free. Please also pass this along to anybody you think would be interested. I have set a goal of raising $5300 dollars so that we can grant one wish to one child. I will post another reminder in about a month and if you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jeff - hollnone@cs.com
