as is mentioned on mL.com the J.J. Cale influence is obvious. Just seems to be a simple song about a phenomenon called tambourine, which at different times in the song refers to a girl, a car, and an instrument. Most likely it refers to becca, basically expressing Rob's fascination with all that she is, an exhaltation of all her facets if you will.
